Abstract
This thesis studies the evolution of sound aesthetics in jazz music production, with the aim of developing a modern aesthetic proposal in the approach of sound engineering. The theoretical part of this paper focuses on the evolution of the musicological and sociological elements of jazz in relation to the development of the music industry, as it traces the two-way influences that developed between the two objects. Combined with the critical analysis of the aesthetics of sound in jazz productions throughout time, a theoretical background is created according to which a modern sonic approach will be developed. The technical part of the thesis concerns the organization and implementation of my production, throughout the stages of recording and mixing. By developing my reasoning process in the stages mentioned above, the methodology I followed is being analyzed with the aim of achieving the artistic goals set in my production.
