Abstract
The Museum is not a one-dimensional cultural space, but mostly, it is an institution that fosters the ideological, educational and social cultivation and coherence while at the same time it has also got recreational purposes. An important tool in the realisation of the above functions is the exhibitions which contribute to the correct display of the museum’s exhibits and consequently, to the successful acquisition of the intended messages by the audience. According to the above statement about the importance of the museums’ exhibitions, the subject matter of this thesis is the presentation and analysis of such an exhibition. More specifically, the study is concerned with the exhibition of Solomos Hall which can be found in the Museum of Dionysios Solomos and Eminent People.
After the subject matter, the aims, the research method and also the resources of the research material are provided with accuracy, afterwards this structure will be followed: in the first part, through the literature review, the personality of the great Greek poet Dionysios Solomos, whose name was given to the museum in his honor, is approached on the one hand and on the other hand a brief presentation of the establishment and action of the museum. In the second part, it includes the primary research and presentation, through the Moser model, of the exhibitions of the Solomos Hall. The purpose of this work is to showcase the contribution of the museums’ exhibitions in the promotion of culture and education and by extension, the necessity for more increased presence of the Museums in the social, educational and cultural events.
