Abstract
The present dissertation is the attempt to translate the first 800 subtitles of the
2019 documentary "Ice On Fire", from English to Greek, along with translational
commentary. In the first part which is the theoretical context, the dissertation looks at
what translation is, and finally what audiovisual translation and subtitling are. The
methodology follows along with the translation techniques, according to Vinay and
Dalbernet and the translational commentary for the translation techniques used.
Followed by my translation and the bibliography used.
