In addition to historical treatises, literary and cinematic works were used as historical sources, in addition to the narrative of people who witnessed the events either as participants or as "victims", in order to acquire a more comprehensive idea of the era and the aftermath of the wars. The qualitative and comparative analysis of the sources aimed to highlight the strategies of managing traumatic memory and adapting to a new reality, as well as the gradual change of society and the mentality of people. Studying the 50's through contemporary sources also traced the pathways of memory and oblivion, the various levels of perception and processing of the traumatic experience of the Civil War, ranging from the first post-war years to our time.
