Abstract
The central focus of my thesis is the speech of the German Chancellor before the German parliament in view of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. Through this speech the German Chancellor once again criticizes Russia's military contribution by condemning the war in Ukraine. He also announces measures of support and economic aid for both the people of Ukraine and the German people. It states that despite the difficulties that will arise, the government will stand by its citizens. Finally, he calls on listeners to contribute in their own way and to stand strong in this period.
