Abstract
The thesis presents the educational situation of the Muslim Chams from the first years of the incorporation of the region of Thesprotia into the Greek State until the beginning of World War II. The conditions under which the educational policy of the Greek State regarding the education of this minority group was drawn up are investigated, as well as individual issues related to the organization of the school network as a whole in Thesprotia, the participation of the minority group itself in the educational processes and the actions taken by it, as well as the institutions that exercised educational policy in Thesprotia.
At the same time, the positions of educators of the time on the teaching of minority groups in Greece as a whole are submitted and examined which and how many of them received legislative approval during this period, as well as whether the educational practices followed in Thesprotia were interwoven with their modern pedagogical and legislative framework.
The main objective, therefore, is on the one hand to investigate and highlight the educational policy of the Greek state in the period 1913-1940 for the minority group of Muslim Chams in relation to the corresponding policy followed for other minority groups and related to the pedagogical claims of the time, on the other hand the participation of the minority group itself in the educational process and the actions of its leadership to defend the right and the accessibility to education.
