Abstract
This ΒΑ dissertation focuses on the role of translation in the context of subtitling. To be
more precise, it focuses on two aspects: interlingual subtitling and the typical approach
used in this process. More specifically, the entire process revolves around the short film
entitled "A young woman babysits 2 British sisters, then discovers something's wrong. |
Before Seven." The main reason for choosing this theme was not just its rigorous nature
but also its ability to integrate the translator's creative side. The aspiring translator
consistently faces a multitude of language and cultural obstacles. Nevertheless, it is
imperative to acknowledge that, currently, all these issues must be addressed within the
audiovisual realm without affecting the fundamental concept of the source text in any
manner.
