Abstract
The subject of the thesis is the access of gamification in museums as well as the suggestions when it comes to Greece. It focuses mainly on the definition of gamification, its application in the wide range of museums but also on the methods that link communication and marketing together. The interpretation of marketing is presented along with ways that could integrate it in museums in addition to the encouragement of consultation with marketing professionals. Other than that, it is given prominence to examples of virtual and augmented reality but also traditional gamification in the world of museums that doesn’t have to do with a virtual world. Additionally, use cases of gamification are presented along with their evaluation so game mechanics can be used effectively in the museum. The method of evaluation is criticized and there are featured suggestions for further research and addition of factors so the point of view of users/gamers could be emphasized apart from point of view of game developers.
