Abstract
This research paper is a contemporary, descriptive study investigating the daily language tasks performed by language professionals in the European institutions, using the European Parliament as a data source. The purpose of this study is to explore the evolution of the role of institutional translators and its extension (outside the strict boundaries of EU translation) to areas such as multimedia translation, transcreation, multilingual content creation, everyday use of CAT tools etc. It also aims to highlight the ways in which translators themselves perceive the changes in their profession and in their daily workflow.
