Abstract
A live stream dance theater performance, with musical composition by Giannis Filippakopoulos. The presentation takes place in a public place/site, at the square of Saint Helena in Corfu.
Through the human body, light, sound and motion act and interact in physical space, as in the allegory of the cave of Plato, in his opus “Politeia”.
Live stream and, particularly, the selected software, allows for performers and space to act and interact with each other while providing for the (distant-)spectator the view angles of the actual space of the show/spectacle, diminishing the one-dimensional sight through a quadrille screen. The deriving piece is intermediate, combining the means of performance, dance, theater (shadow play), technology, philosophy, light and sound (music composure).
A public space, such as one of the squares of Corfu, serves the amphitheatric motion in space, the grand surface area of the buildings for experimentation with light and motion in a greater scale than the stage of a theater. The body germinates a “dialogue” with its shadow, the shadow with the body and altogether with space and time.
