Abstract
For several decades now, Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, the ISBD Standard, and the MARC Standard have been key tools for cataloging library material. The technological developments of the coming years and the need to cover more types of material will lead to several revisions and improvements of the aforementioned library tools. Their radical revision will begin to be discussed after the invention and evolution of the World Wide Web. The production of an increasing volume of digital resources will highlight the weaknesses of traditional cataloging. The RDA cataloging standard will soon be developed, based on the FRBR conceptual model and the IFLA-LRM that will replace it. A few years later, the Library of Congress will develop the BIBFRAME model. A common feature of the new rules and models is the separation of intellectual and artistic creation from the body that contains it. Structural parts of the models are the Entities/Classes with which the data are organized, their Properties and the Relationships between them. However, in the case of complex bibliographic entities such as Aggregates, problems arise in the application of new bibliographic data models and in achieving interoperability between them.
