Abstract
The Greek Guiding Association (GGA) is an extracurricular, voluntary, non-
governmental organization of pedagogical nature, founded in Greece in 1932.
Singing is the main musical activity that takes place in its Groups and is one of the
means to achieve the objectives of the Guiding Educational Program (Organization of GGA, 2007). The Greek Guiding Association has created a repertoire of Guiding
songs, which passes from generation to generation and remains a common reference point for each member of the organization. Singing characterizes various aspects of the guiding life, as the Groups sing in every Guiding event. The musical aim of singing is usually limited to learning the lyrics, melody and movement accompanying each song in an environment of joy and play. Also, singing in the Guiding Educational Program contributes to areas such as team bonding, relaxation, decompression, movement, creativity, expression, play, etc. At the same time, it is a learning tool that is pleasant, practical, experiential and accessible to children and
adults.
