Abstract
Digital technologies and the internet have become an integral part of people's daily lives. Technological tools have affected all areas of human life. At the same time, however, there are dangers from their reckless use. Children as members of society grow up and interact in the modern digital world. Society needs to be particularly aware of childhood, where the influence of an adult is greater and intervention in dangerous behavior is easier. It is necessary for parents and teachers to closely monitor the development of the relationship "children and digital technologies". After all, today's children are tomorrow's society.
The present work aims to capture the relationship of children aged 6 to 11 years with digital technologies both in the family environment and in the school community. Initially, this relationship is presented through the literature review and existing research. The negative and positive elements of the use of digital technologies by children are described, as well as the attitude of parents and the school towards the new reality.
A survey was then conducted asking the children themselves to answer questions about the digital technologies they know, how much time they spend on them and why they use them. The questionnaire was addressed to students of primary schools in Corfu and was sent to their parents in electronic form. The data collected from the children's responses is a sample of Corfu society.
