Abstract
“The One Without a Name” is a short film and its projection is designed as a video-installation. The subject of the film is about Identity, as it has been set by the post-structuralist theory. We approach social identities as constructions which have been formed in historical and social context. We are trying to set light to categories/dipoles which are considered to be natural and their existence is a priori, as male/female, white/black, heterosexual/homosexual. The main character of the film is a young man who is unable to understand the existence of social identities and how exactly they work. He ends up in a psychiatric hospital and as being in there he recounts parts of his past in a narrative that we cannot tell with certainty if it is the reality or just a dream.
