Abstract
Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) expressed the view that chess is the exercise of the mind.In the research that will follow, it will be documented with medical descriptions and statistical methods how chess evolves the human mind. Especially when it comes to certain brain dysfunctions or non-functions of brain centers (dyslexia, numeracy, dysgraphia, reading difficulties and other learning difficulties) chess can work therapeutically and practically to alleviate the problem but mainly psychologically from the moment we are talking about children's souls, who tend to be more fragile and sensitive. My bachelor thesis is divided into four main chapters with the first topic being chess, the second children with learning difficulties, the third memory-learning and chess and the fourth, in which I quote three interviews: 1. Anna-Maria Botsari, international chess champion and coach, 2 Vassilis Kyriakakis, neurologist and chess player and 3. B.M., a teacher who applied the teaching of chess at school. The thematic units will meet in the conclusions and will give answers and solutions to the questions that will have been asked.
