Abstract
This dissertation seems to address the issue of human rights, their recognition and protection, in the context of a globalized society and economy. More specifically, it is described the relationship between these two conflicting concepts, on the one hand referring to the freedoms of individual subjects and on the other to the goals of the various systems of government, through the imposition of corresponding institutional rules and measures for the promotion their economic interests. Starting from a complete clarification of human rights and the various changes that have taken place in their definition, through different periods and cultures, in accordance with the provisions of the UN Declaration, we conclude that they are inextricably linked to a desired cultural and economic development of the nations. Α phenomenon like that can be substantiated, if we take under consideration, their economic importance, as analyzed extensively, both at the microeconomic and institutional level. As a result, every political leadership is forced to accept and maintain the institution of human rights, either because of their compliance with international standards or because of the negative consequences in the productive efficiency of social resources, i.e. in the productivity of human capital. Ιn addition, it is becoming clear that the process of globalization of the market is not aimed at expanding human rights, but, to the contrary, at the violation of them, since its main principle remains the increase of trade and the 'overexploitation' of stocks, creating a liberal market of goods and services. Finally, the study about comes to the conclusion that the wrong strategy of governments, who use pressure as imposing measure, can lead them to resistance to the political power, political disagreement amongst different parties for the treatment of human rights and, in the end, the ultimate violation of them, despite the terms of declarations and conclusions.
