Abstract
The dissertation focuses on the composition of orchestral music, with particular emphasis on the relationship between intention and sonic outcome. It examines how musical parameters, such as timbre, structure, and pitch material, contribute to the expression of compositional intentions. It also explores how historical and cultural constraints influence the reception of intention and how this often diverges from the final auditory result. The central piece, titled "Solles Solis," is a five-part composition based on a distinctive pitch structure, where the absence of specific notes (this is a project that, as the title states, is Sol-less = without Sol) serves as a key dramaturgical element. The composer incorporates algorithmic processes and utilizes the pitch material as a narrative tool, while the title and dramaturgy aim to evoke anticipation and emotional climax. Through this work, the composer explores the multidimensional process of communication with the listener, highlighting the importance of intention in the creative process.
