Abstract
On this project it will be presented the life of the ancient Greek philosopher Plato, who was undoubtedly one of the most important personalities in the history of philosophy. The influences and beliefs contributed to the formation of his philosophical and didactic course. Moreover, his main works and a detailed description of the main ideas of his famous work “The Republic” (Greek: Πολιτεία, translit. Politeia; Latin: De Republica) are noted, with the last one be perhaps the most important of his dialogues. Undoubtedly it influenced the writing of works from Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome to the collective work of eminent scientists, writers and others of the 20th and 21st centuries.
