Abstract
As people of judgment and awareness, we worry about those we love and, above all, about ourselves. But what is it that makes us react this way? Do we fear for our reputation? For our property? Or is it our own lives? Can it all be destroyed in an instant?
Nowadays, it is common to share our personal and non-personal moments online. Unfortunately, there are many who take advantage of any of our vulnerable moments, either through blackmail and threats or even psychological pressure. Automatically, these acts are classified as cybercrimes and must be reported to the competent authority so that they can be dealt with.
The response team works with the dedicated digital crime analyst, who is responsible for identifying, preserving, analyzing and presenting the digital evidence of the crime committed. In this branch of science, digital forensics, as it is called, the investigators must be especially careful with the evidence they submit, as the final report will go through legal scrutiny.
In this paper, we have created a digital forensics training exercise which deals with a cybercrime scenario. The case is based on real events, but the characters, names, incidents, locations and dialogues are fiction.
