Abstract
The present thesis aims to present the Zakynthian Marietta
Giannopoulou - Minotou (MG - M / 1900-1962), a female presence belonging to the generation of the 1930s who developed intense feminist and intellectual activity from the interwar period until her death in 1962. The influences of her native Zakynthos and the wider Ionian environment shaped her personality and left a strong imprint on her work. Her multi-layered activities, which began at a very young age, are revealed through the study of the available sources, published and unpublished. A dominant place is occupied by her archive, which is managed by the family of her son Dionysios Angelos Minotou (1931-2020).
For the research and the writing of the present work, the published studies of my supervisor and professor of the Department of Archival , Library Science and Museology of the Ionian University, Mrs. Marietta Minotou, have been used, which have been based on the study of the archive of Marietta Giannopoulou - Minotou, the Greek and foreign press of the time, oral testimonies and relevant literature. Based on the aforementioned studies, the work was enriched with data I found from the relevant printed literature and other electronic sources.
