Abstract
In today's payment and transaction landscape, Banks have integrated e-banking into their strategic goals and investing in quality customer service through electronic service channels. They are competing with each other for offering new electronic payment instruments that promise to change habits and facilitate the daily life of users. This paper examines the security of electronic payments by focusing on ensuring the privacy of users and the confidentiality of the sensitive personal data they process. Describes the online trading methods that are widely used today with the use of credit or debit cards and mobile phone devices via POS, Internet and Mobile banking. For each method analyzes the successive steps of processing sensitive data during the transaction, as well as the role of the participants. Describes the most common cases of unauthorized download and transfer of payment data, and identifies those areas that pose risks and enable threats to be realized. The technical and operational requirements specified by the PCI Standards Board for cardholder data protection are described and the defense technologies and strategies proposed by the research area that companies or users can apply to their environment to avoid or deal with the attacks. It describes the entry of cryptocurrencies as a new payment method, and the appearance of FinTech companies in the financial field with digital banks being the future of e-banking. Finally, the new regulatory framework to be applied for the digitization of services and the data security risks in the financial landscape as outlined by the latest developments is mentioned.
