Abstract
This thesis presents our six-month music teaching experience at a Special Vocational
Secondary School as music teachers. The theme, "Music is for everyone", -is the main axis on
which we based our lessons. We believe that music can give everyone the freedom to express
themselves through it without limitations and, especially to social groups, such as people with
disabilities, who are very often excluded. Our role within this context was to provide this group
of students with ways and means to be heard and expressed through a language of
communication, -music. During our teaching practice we came in contact with each student
through activities and school celebrations and we noticed over the course of the term that many
of them have allowed music to take them on a journey and help them to develop their own
voice.
