Abstract
The present study attempts to enlighten the democratic conceptions of the Florentine political thinker, Niccolò Machiavelli. In addition, this study aim to highlight the use of Machiavellian philosophy in the modern Greek political scene. On these two pillars, the research questions identified in the first chapter, are built. In order to draw conclusions, the study moves along two axes. The first one has to do with the study of some of Machiavelli's original papers, as well as the opinion of the scientific community about him. This information is listed in the second chapter, where the literature review is done. The second axis is related to the analysis of pre-election articles, using the critical analysis of political discourse. The research methodology is defined in the third chapter, while its practical application is developed in the fourth chapter, through the analysis of two pre-election articles. Finally, the fifth chapter follows, where all the findings of this work are connected to draw some conclusions. These conclusions concern the emergence of Niccolò Machiavelli's democratic beliefs, and his relevance to the contemporary Greek political scene.
