Abstract
This diploma thesis is an annotation of my two-month internship in the translation agency “Rhyme and Reason”, as well as the overall experience I have gained from it. More specifically, in this thesis you can find a description of the translation agency, the way it works, and the services it provides to its clients. In addition, I describe my place within the agency along with the translation tools I used in a daily basis while being there. Throughout this process, I have made some observations and I have come to some conclusions as regards the translation of different types of texts, such as the translation of various certificates. All of this is written down in detail and is based on examples drawn from a sample of translations I made during my stay there. Surely, the difficulties I experienced especially by having no prior experience in the field of translation and also my concerns are an important part of the thesis that could not be excluded. Finally, the conclusion of the thesis is composed by a review of my overall experience. An experience that has been for me a challenge that I had to overcome, but at the same time a transition from student life to the professional while entering a quite demanding environment in which I had to adapt, to respond to and to try to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
