Abstract
The present paper deals with the development of the visual project "From Calvino's texts to the creation of illustrations using Augmented Reality on clothing", which has to do with the creation of visual representations based on Calvino's book "Invisible Cities" (Calvino 1972). On the basis of this book, a theoretical research on the concepts of space-place, the metropolis and the position of the individual in contemporary urban centres is developed. The representations that are implemented aim to symbolically represent five of the cities described in the book. The final presentation of these representations is done by applying them to the garment and specifically on white T-shirts with the printing method of screen printing. Regarding the use of augmented reality, the following functionality is aimed to be achieved:
A. be recognisable by augmented reality algorithms and devices
B. to transform the images into "target images", which will have the role of a "barcode", but their form will have a visual aesthetic
C. can be linked to audiovisual content, social media or mediated systems (e. g. be part of a mediated city game in which the visitor interacts with people wearing the clothes).
