Abstract
This thesis is about creating a virtual reality project titled Is There Anybody Out There? that reflects on the period of 2020-2021 when humanity faced the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent quarantine. The project invites the viewer to relive and reflect on these situations in a metaphysical setting, following the thoughts and musings of a narrator.
The thesis begins with a bibliographic review on the impact of the pandemic, the evolution of virtual reality technology, and similar virtual reality projects that have been produced. Then, it analyzes all aspects and methodologies of developing the Is There Anybody Out There? project, presents the scenario, and finally documents the artistic and technological choices in terms of hardware, software, and tools that were used in the development.
