Abstract
This undergraduate thesis examines the macroeconomic impacts of crises on Greece's tourism sector and the strategies for managing these crises. It analyzes various forms of crises, such as natural disasters, political instability, pandemics, and migration phenomena, and how these crises affect the economy on a macroeconomic level. Using secondary data from official statistical databases, academic articles, and reports from governmental and international organizations, the study investigates the direct and indirect impacts of crises on tourism.
The research highlights the importance of adapting policies to local conditions and the need for tailored approaches to tourism recovery, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, it presents proposals for strengthening infrastructure and improving crisis management processes to ensure the sustainability and development of Greece's tourism sector.
In conclusion, despite the significant challenges faced by tourism in Greece due to various crises, there are prospects for recovery and growth through the adoption of appropriate strategies and the strengthening of infrastructure. The thesis provides practical guidelines and policy recommendations that can contribute to enhancing the economic resilience of the tourism sector and the Greek economy as a whole.
