Abstract
Artists have always been inspired by the socio-political phenomena that were taking place in their time. Nowadays, a parameter has been added that no one could predict, the pandemic of the COVID-19 disease, something that affected and affects all forms of art. Therefore, the creation of an audiovisual work in the context of my thesis that has as its central axis the psyche and life in the era of the pandemic was almost necessary for me. “Whatever you have lived, you can write (...) but what you have not lived you cannot write, you can only pretend to write it.”.
As is historically known, the world community has often faced pandemics in the past (plague of Athens, Black Plague, Spanish flu, etc.). The effects of the recent pandemic, beyond individual, have always been social, something that we can clearly observe in people in our familiar environment but also in ourselves. On the occasion of George Robolas 'article on the site oneman.gr with the title " What the pandemic has done to our psychology", the need arose for me to produce an audiovisual work that will capture, through the lens, the consequences of the pandemic of the COVID-19 disease. Consequences of a virus experienced in the last year both in our country and in the rest of the planet. My work entitled "How the days go by" will be a social, realistic drama with obvious influences from The New Wave (Nouvelle Vague) of French cinema, the new cinema (generation of the '60s) and the Prague Spring.
