Abstract
The present master thesis was prepared within the framework of Management of Cultural Information Master’s Degree, of the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology of the Ionian University in Corfu. Thesis’s subject is immersion in the information era related to tourism. Specifically, the fields of digital information behavior and literacy of tourists, as well as how their information needs are being studied. The paper is constructed in four (4) chapters in total, which seek to cover the issue. First and foremost, to fully cover the subject, some concepts such as information, tourism, information behavior and literacy are being clarified. Moreover, with the intention to analyze the topic, PRISMA method was used, i.e. the Systematic Review, in order to study the information needs of potential tourists, and those who are already in their destination. Last but not least, this study reaches some general conclusions based on the analysis made, while at the same time proposals are formulated for further investigation of the issue.
