Abstract
This thesis offers a thorough exploration of the
Hellenic Navy history from 1821 to 1945, with special emphasis on turbulent
years of World War II. Chapter 10, “The Second World
War: Far from the Homeland (1941-1944)' delves into the efforts of
of the Hellenic Navy during this critical period, highlighting the challenges,
his triumphs and sacrifices. Central to this landmark is the
process of translating original Greek texts into English, which
presented significant language and contextual barriers. The comment that
