Abstract
The present dissertation consists of the subtitling into Greek of the American
documentary entitled: "The Plastic Problem" and the commentary of the process. My
aim in choosing this documentary is to give "voice" to an issue that is very important
for the human race. I sought to convey the message as accurately as possible in the
target language. My methodology was based on researching proper translation
choices both as regards the rendering of the dialogues in Greek and the observance
of the technical characteristics and constraints. The commentary analyses the
methodology used and provides examples pertaining to subtitle line breaks and the
translation choices I made.
