Abstract
I chose a British comedy series on Friday Night Dinner and specifically the 1st episode of her fourth and most recent cycle. This is what I would say would be an excellent choice for my graduate work, as being comical, I faced one of the most difficult, in my opinion, problems of subtitling, namely the performance of a country's humor in the humor of another, which also includes the right transfer of culture.Difficulties, of course, also concern other issues that will be extensively analyzed in the following analysis. Also, there are no subtitles in Greek for this particular episode, and subtitling became almost deaf and the archives in English were incomplete. Therefore, the attached audio-visual record is the result of translation, synchronization, incorporation and editing entirely by me.
