Abstract
Up-to-date technological advances have decisively contributed in every aspect of
human life. The podcast is part of these developments and offers ground in the interplay of
the arts (creative writing, music, theatre, etc.) allied with the relevant literature to support
the pedagogical benefits of music and non-music education. We recognize that adolescence
is characterized by the constant use of technological media, as through them, they explore
and engage with musical sounds, artists, lyrics, etc., thus forming elements of their identity.
Elements that could be expressed through creation. Therefore, through the execution of a
series of nine lessons, a student-created podcast fiction was carried out as part of their music studies in a Music School, based on their musical preferences. It aims to cultivate critical and creative thinking, self-discovery, the expression of emotions and the development of collaboration and meaningful communication among teenage students. The results, highlight the significant contribution of podcasts as a creative medium since through this process the rapid development of students' creative and critical thinking, the formation of a collaborative and open environment by the students, and the enhancement of communication and relationships between them, via their musical preferences, were observed.
