Abstract
The Library of Alexandria is a historical monument symbolizing the knowledge, culture, and progressive thinking of antiquity. It was founded during the Hellenistic dynasty of the Ptolemies and became one of the largest and richest cultural centers of ancient times. This paper will explore the significance and impact of the Library of Alexandria through the lens of literature. By selecting three literary works that directly reference the Library of Alexandria, we will investigate how authors depict this historical and cultural heritage. We will examine how the library is integrated into the plot of these works, its significance for the characters and culture, and how the knowledge and mythology of Alexandria influence the development of events. Through this analysis, we will highlight the richness of Alexandria's legacy and the way its knowledge and history are intertwined with literature and contemporary culture. This journey will underscore the importance of the Library of Alexandria as a source of inspiration and knowledge for the centuries that followed.
