Abstract
This thesis is a translation of the World Economic Outlook report issued by the
IMF in January 2023. The paper consists of two parts: the translation part and the
commentary part on the translation difficulties encountered during the process.
The first chapters of the paper contain the translation followed by the source text
and therefore a combined reading of the work is possible. The translation is
accompanied by an elaborated commentary consisting of subsections in order to
facilitate comprehension and provide a brief tour of the areas of translational
difficulties. All the translation methods and techniques used to translate the text
have been proposed by well-known experts in the field, whose theories are a
"beacon" for a properly completed project.
In conclusion, this project aspires to be an aid for people interested in the financial
sector and wishing to learn more about the subject, as well as for educational,
teaching and research purposes.
