Abstract
Libraries, archives and museums are the foundation for preserving a country's cultural heritage. The information provided by these institutions is of incalculable value as it helps both in broadening the mind and in a variety of fields like science, arts and professions. The advancement of technology has helped to make these three institutions more attractive than ever. The main purpose of this dissertation is to study how these three institutions - libraries, archives and museums - have evolved and analyze them through various legislative reforms with emphasis on libraries, as they provide a wealth of information. The dissertation first provides a general theoretical framework before examining the information institutions in the field of justice with representative examples. The opportunities for information through these institutions are increasingly supported with the help of the internet and the opportunities provided by technological development. Through the said advancement, the professional and social life of people is improved as these institutions are catalysts for economic and social development and welfare. Finally, the dissertation proposes topics for further discussion.
