Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the practical implementation of programs that can be executed on the D-Wave quantum computer and solve optimization problems.
In particular, the first chapter provides an introduction to quantum computing, its basic principles and functions as well as the difference between qubits and bits and the advantages of quantum computing.
The second chapter presents the D-Wave quantum computer and analyzes its hardware and software components, such as its operating environment and the available tools for application development.
The third chapter provides a brief guide for installing the software needed to run programs on the D-Wave quantum. Additionally, four NP-complete optimization problems are examined and Python programs are developed to solve them using quantum computer.
