Abstract
In the following work we will see how the museum has evolved in the 21st century, what its goals are, what its role is in society and to whom it is addressed. We will also examine how the visitors to the museum "learn" better when asked to participate in activities in it and how technologies and specifically the appearance of the photo inside the museum has played a decisive role. In addition, we will discuss what photography offers to the museum and what impact it has on the people who visit it and on society. In the first section we will analyze the museum etymologically and we will briefly see the first forms of museums and their evolution in the 21st century. In the second section we will examine photography from its birth until today and its inclusion in the museum as a modern trend focusing on what its role is and how it affects the museum audience.
