Abstract
This thesis focuses on the design, implementation, and evaluation of a serious game related to mathematics, titled "The Butterfly Maze," developed using the Unity platform and the C# programming language. The game is aimed at elementary school children and seeks to combine mathematics learning with entertainment. Initially, the thesis describes the methodology for the game's development, analyzing the design steps, the technologies used, and the challenges encountered during implementation. The development process was time-consuming, involving the use of various online resources and tools for integrating graphics and assets into the game. Subsequently, the results of the research conducted to evaluate the game among children aged 8-9 years are presented. The findings showed that the game was successful in providing a positive user experience, while its educational objectives were largely achieved. The children positively rated the ease of use, the entertainment value, and the educational benefits of the game. The thesis concludes with suggestions for future research, proposing the expansion of the sample size and the use of inferential statistical methods to analyze differences between genders and other demographic groups. Additionally, ways to improve the game and possibilities for its expansion to enhance its educational value are suggested. Overall, the thesis confirms the value of "The Butterfly Maze" as an educational tool, offering an engaging and effective approach to teaching mathematics through gaming.
