Abstract
The following paper studies gastronomic tourism as a driver for the development of society. The paper was prepared after searching and studying print and electronic literature and related research on this perspective on alternative forms of tourism. The paper is divided into five main chapters. The first chapter deals with the concept of gastronomic tourism as well as its purpose. The second chapter studies the historical background and profile of gastronomic tourism. The third chapter includes the methodology used to collect the data for the study developed. The fourth chapter presents the analysis of these data. Finally, chapter five contains the conclusions and recommendations of the research.
