Abstract
During their life, people create bonds whether they will be with their parents or later in life with either their friends or a partner (Alaimo & Casciο, 2015; Simpson & Lane, 2022). What happens though when it is time to let a person go? Many people, tend to close themselves emotionally while dealing with a loss of a loved one, which may lead to creating psychological as well as physiological problems to themselves (Shoeps et al. 2021; Van Loo et al. 2021; Panjwani et al. 2016). Depending on the culture in which they grew up, people who experience grief, are constantly trying to manage the pain accumulated by the loss of a loved one through social rituals and individual efforts to keep their continuing bonds with the deceased strong (Sekowski, 2021). This research, focuses on presenting ways in which people approach grief in connection to personal loss. Moreover, the research examines a) ways in which a musical play could potentially be used as an atypical ritual for approaching grief and b) the whole experience of the audience and the music students- performers who participated in a musical play centered around loss and the fear of losing someone.
