Abstract
This paper begins with the presentation of the basic terms that need analysis, specifically the terms of reading and reading behavior. Next is the necessary focus on the category of university students, with the deposition of data regarding their reading habits as they are currently formed. The description of the theoretical background continues with the mentioning of publishing production and book promotion, as well as the role of bookstores and libraries in generating reading interest. A detailed description of the contribution of new technologies, and especially the internet, to students’ readability is followed. There’s a further focus on the contribution of electronic books and audio books. After the theoretical analysis, the results of the fours studies in reading behavior that have been carried out in Greece are summarized. Finally, the conclusions occuring from the above are listed, as well as suggestions for the more efficient organizing and achievement of the reading behavior of university students in Greece.
