Abstract
This thesis focuses on the translation from French into Greek of a research study, which examines extensively the strategic and diplomatic relations between the European Union and China, entitled: «Les relations entre l’Union européenne et la Chine: une nouvelle ère de coopération stratégique plus étendue?», by the author, Anna Saarela. It is a study that focuses on international trade and international politics, as China is seen as an important strategic partner for the European Union, despite the differences and divergences that may arise in certain areas. Bilateral cooperation has been established between the two partners on pressing issues of foreign policy and security, environmental protection and global economic governance. The Chinese side has explicitly stated its demand to be recognized as a major factor in the market economy, which it has been requesting in the EU since 2003.
