Abstract
This present study aims to present the museum's relationship with people on the autism spectrum. Referring to recent international bibliography, we analyse concepts related to the museum and learning in order to delve into the spectrum of autism within the museum context. The needs of people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) with regard to their visit to the museum are identified and their characteristics are analyzed, both individually and in relation to society. The main part of the thesis is the speech on the autism spectrum, which is divided into three types: internal, egocentric and social. Concluding on the use of social stories, reference is made to the structure they need to have and how they can be applied in the digital age. The case study involves the creation of the guide at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki for people on the autism spectrum, as well as the methodology that was used. Lastly, through this study, corresponding practices of museums both abroad and in Greece are identified and suggestions for their improvement are made.
