Abstract
This paper attempts to highlight the benefits of educational interventions, specifically in archaeological sites, using as an example the case of the Amyklaion in Sparta.
In chapter 1, the thesis in question deals with the Management and Promotion of Archaeological Sites and Monuments, then in chapter 2 with Educational Programmes, their importance and how they are designed, while some educational programmes from other archaeological sites are mentioned as well. In the third and last chapter, the example of the Amyklaion in Sparta as well as other examples of educational programmes at this specific archaeological site are studied.
The topic of my thesis was chosen due to my intensive involvement in the field of museology and in particular, as a result of my involvement in the Museum Collections of the Ionian University, where I have participated in the design and implementation of activities and educational programmes. The decision to focus on Archaeological Sites was triggered by my interest to get in touch with a different area of culture, since during my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to attend classes related to the field of archaeology, which were and still are of great interest to me.
