Abstract
The purpose of this work is the linguistic processing of texts of El. Venizelos concerning the Division and the Asia Minor War. In this study, the model of Ruth Wodak's Logohistorical Approach is used. The sample of texts examined mostly consists of Venizelos' speeches in the Parliament but also includes public speeches, memoranda, diary pages and letters. This research highlights the close relationship between language and political reality as well as ideology. These texts belong to an era that marked the history of modern Greece.
