Abstract
It is about a translation of a study dealing with adolescent addiction to the Internet and more specific to social networks. Other previous studies that directly link this adolescent addiction to adult depression are being mentioned as the growing and widespread use of the Internet is separating adolescents from their environment. This study, is going against all the previous ones and doesn’t accept the correlation between social media and depression. It has examined adolescents from many countries around the world, from different social classes, and a wide range of teens.
This research, however, has an informative character, which gives the reader the opportunity to draw their own conclusions by simply quoting all the data gathered from all the studies over the years. It is though very special and different, as it does not oppose to the findings of previous researches but is adding to them by using examples and tables, which makes it very easy to understand by the public.
Another thing that makes it so special is that it deals an issue that most adults will have to face in one way or another during their lives.
Finally, the original study itself has been tested by the Humanities Research Committee of the University of England, making it one of the most appropriate texts for academic translation. Its vocabulary is special-medicaly focused, and has required an appropriate research, while at the same time it is enough simple to be understood by the public.
