Abstract
The present paper deals with the Records in Contexts & Conceptual Model (RiC-CM) with the case study on the records of the Corfu Criminal Court of Appeal of the period 1729-1866. In particular, we will study a file (F. 61) with cases from 1824 to 1825 (Italian language) and 1852 (Greek language). It becomes more complete mainly after 1829, including the number of the case file, lawsuit reference, the name of the accused, the offense, the name of the plaintiff and whether the accused is in custody or free on bail. Each sub-folder deals with one case. Therefore, each sub-folder contains a number of documents relating to the case. The framework includes, the first document Atto di accusa (indictment) drafted by the Avocato Fiscale - the prosecutor or Public Advocate which closes with a reference to the witnesses (testimoni), evidence documents (documenti), summonses of witnesses, witness statements, evidence, expenses, trial transcripts, and the judgment. Finally, the modelling of the Corfu Criminal Court of Appeal archive, based on the RiC-CM model, is interspersed with a conceptual approach of retrieval, organization, and analysis of concepts and relationships. This system improves the understanding, representation of data, allowing the extraction of important information and correlations.
