Abstract
In this thesis, an attempt is made to approach and analyze Byzantine diplomacy and the methods it used during its more than a thousand years of history. In the first chapter there is a brief presentation of the historical path of the empire through its birth in 324 AD. from Constantine the Great until its submission to the Ottoman Turks in 1453 AD. In the second chapter, a presentation of the administrative and military structure of the empire is attempted, which is very important for anyone who wishes to approach aspects of the Empire's diplomatic acuity. The third chapter presents the diplomatic activity of Byzantium in all phases of their historical path. The reader has the opportunity to come into contact with diplomatic practices and their evolution, as well as to understand how they contributed decisively to the strengthening and subsequent survival of the Byzantine State. In the fourth chapter, we analyze case studies of the diplomatic history of the Empire and the thesis concludes with the conclusions and useful appendices.
