Abstract
The thesis is based on the German book "Was reimt sich auf Wochenende?Prosecco!Heitere Gescichten", which translates as "What rhymes with weekend? Prosecco! Cheerful stories". The book describes short everyday stories of a 33-year-old woman, humorously examining life's challenges and, in a contradictory way, making fun of social norms. The thesis includes the translation of four extracts from the work, which highlight the particular cultural and linguistic differences in Germany. Each author comes from a different city, using dialects that reflect local culture and everyday life. During the translation, special emphasis was placed on managing the linguistic challenges, as dialects are an important element of the original text. The thesis translates the relevant extracts from German into Greek and examines the difficulties that arise from transferring cultural elements into another language.
